MARIAN HOME RESIDENTS BENEFIT FROM ANONYMOUS GIFT

Marian Home was recently the benefactor of a substantial gift from a local family who has ties to the facility.  Although the family wishes to remain anonymous, their gift will directly benefit many of the current and future residents and staff.

“Thanks to this family’s generosity, we were able to purchase thirty-seven electric high / low beds for our residents,” said Eric Halverson, Administrator at Marian Home.  “A few of our residents spend large amounts of time in their beds whether it be sleeping, reading, eating, watching television, or for medical reasons.  With that in mind, we at Marian Home want to provide the most relaxing and comforting atmosphere possible.  The purchase of these adjustable-high low beds gives us the ability to improve upon our already excellent standards.”

These beds are designed with residents’ comfort in mind as well as their personal safety.  “These beds have a variety of functions built in to increase sitting and sleeping positions as well as mobility while reducing rolling hazards,” said Halverson. “This helps improve the quality of care we are able to provide our nursing facility residents.”

The beds purchased by Marian Home also have advantages for staff members as they tend to the residents.  “It is generally the safest type of bed available.  Repositioning and transferring residents when the bed is at the appropriate height prevents injuries and potential falls for both the resident and employee,” said Halverson.

As a not-for-profit organization, the staff and residents at Marian Home are extremely grateful for any donation they receive regardless of size or amount.  “We are doing God’s work here,” said Halverson.  “We are improving lives every day.”
